#sunkissedsundown beneficiaries

All proceeds from the #SunkissedSundown  Benefit Concert on Friday, September 1, 2017 will benefit:

Energy Justice Network is the grassroots energy agenda, supporting communities threatened by polluting energy and waste technologies. Taking direction from its grassroots base and the Principles of Environmental Justice, EJN advocates a clean energy, zero-emission, zero-waste future for all.

ONE DC-Organizing Neighborhood Equity is building political strength to create and preserve racial and economic equity and community for all in the district. ONE DC is currently in a campaign to raise $2 million to purchase the building housing the Black Workers Center—an incubation space for training, direct action and worker-owned alternatives to address the disproportionately high percentage of unemployed and underemployed black workers in DC.

Restaurant Opportunities Center United (ROC) has a mission to improve wages and working conditions for the nation’s restaurant workforce. ROC is the partnership over 25,000 restaurant workers, over 200 high-road employers, and thousands of engaged consumers united for raising restaurant industry standards.

* Other Social Justice Movements* working towards empowerment and justice for those "kissed by the sun". The organizer's plan to share net proceeds of the benefit concert as mini-grants for other grassroots social justice activism. The number of additional beneficiaries and the amount of their gifts are dependent upon the number of tickets sold, additional sponsorship and service to the community. Any additional nonprofit beneficiaries receiving proceeds from the benefit concert will be listed here.
